We are hiring. We do not have paid positions available but we well set up to onboard and support people who want to develop some skills, build relationships and learn about the different types of organisations and people work work in the civic innovation and social impact community across Australia. This opportunity is an internship, a short term unpaid role to support us to manage Australia’s Social Change Map and our virtual front door and concierge service, and promote civic innovation in Australia. Help us to help others find their way.
The work:
We are currently looking for two or three people who can help us to:
Keep the Social Change Map live – organisations come to us because they want to be listed on the map. We will teach you everything we know about ecosystem mapping so you can help us keep the map up to date.
Support social change - people call us because they want to do something for their community. We help them shape their idea, develop a plan and make it happen. Help us scale this service and use the Social Change Map to help people find their way.
Promote social change – interview people delivering change in communities across Australia and, with their permission, document these stories so that we can share them as inspiration for others.
Help us understand civic innovators – we would like to develop personas of the different types of civic innovators in Australia so that we can tailor our support and design pathways to maximise their impact.
How we work:
Ideally you will be able to work one, possibly two days.
These days needs to be consistent so that we can work with you, and support you.
This is an unpaid internship. If you are at university, we will try to help you credit for your work with us.
Get in touch if you are:
Self-motivated and keen to learn new things.
Interested in Civic Innovation, society and social change.
A good listener. Happy to meet people, and curious about society, and social change.
A clear communicator, with some skills in visual, written or digital communications.
Comfortable using computers, and a variety of software.
Qualifications:
Completed at least one year of tertiary studies.
Have some understanding of the skills you would like to develop and why.
Some professional work experience.
Some volunteer experience.
